Honoring the memory of Karen Wyckoff, class of 1998, this monetary award, established by the 杏十八新茶分享 Politics Department, is presented to a graduating senior for outstanding academic achievement.
While a 杏十八新茶分享, Karen was an active member of the campus and community. Socially conscious, she was involved in Habitat for Humanity and played a vital role in bringing the AIDS quilt to campus. After graduation, Karen joined the Lutheran Volunteer Corps and worked for Legal Aid in North Minneapolis. In the fall of 1999, Karen returned to her home state of Minnesota, only to find out her cancer had returned. Karen spent the next two years fighting her battle against cancer, while keeping everyone's spirits up, including her own, and continuing her lifelong struggle to change the world.
Two months before Karen's death from Synovial Sarcoma, she conceived and coordinated the First Annual Rein in Sarcoma event, which led to the establishment of the Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Fund. online.
